Connecting speakers

This unit has a built-in four-channel amplifier and allows you to select from three amplifier modes according to your speaker configuration and listening preferences.

Standard (A, B, or A+B) (BTL connection)

You can connect one or two pairs of speakers to the unit and control the volume independently.

Parallel BTL

You can enjoy more powerful and clearer sound with improved low-frequency control. Only one pair of speakers can be connected in this mode.

Bi-Amp

You can enjoy clearer, more transparent sound with improved channel separation using dedicated amplifiers for high and low frequencies. Speakers with separate tweeter and woofer terminals are required.

NOTE

Disconnect this unit’s power plug from the power outlet before connecting the speakers. Also, turn off the subwoofer.

Connect so that the speaker cable core wires do not protrude from the speaker terminal. The protection circuit may be activated if the core wires touch the rear panel or if the + and - sides touch each other. Protection circuitlink

Never touch the speaker terminals while the power cord is connected. Doing so could result in electric shock.

Use speakers with an impedance of 4 – 16 Ω/ohms.
