Amp Assign

You can change the Pre Amplifier assignment according to your speaker system.

Assign Mode

Select how to use the Pre Amplifier.

You need to configure the detailed settings for the speaker configuration in accordance with the selected mode. Select Assign Mode configure the corresponding detailed settings.

11.1ch
(Default):

All Pre Amplifiers for this unit are used for MAIN ZONE.

Up to 13.1-channels can be connected for MAIN ZONE.

The speakers play back up to 11.1-channels in accordance with the input signal and sound mode. link

9.1ch (Bi-Amp):

The Pre Amplifier of this unit is assigned to 2-channels for creating bi-amp connections with the front speaker.

Up to 11.1-channels can be connected for MAIN ZONE.

The speakers play back up to 9.1-channels in accordance with the input signal and sound mode. link

9.1ch + Front B:

The Pre Amplifier of this unit is assigned to 2 channels for connecting to the second front speaker.

You can switch between the desired combination of front speakers A and front speakers B. link

Switch the front speaker using the “Front Speaker” setting. link

Dolby Atmos :

Setting to assign the Pre amplifiers within this unit for the speaker layout suitable for Dolby Atmos playback. link

Upgrade (Auro-3D)

Auro-3D:

Setting to assign the power amplifiers with this unit for the speaker layout suitable for Auro-3D playback. link

Detailed settings when “Assign Mode” is set to “11.1ch”

When “Assign Mode” is set to “11.1ch”, set the following items.

Height Speakers

Select the number of the height speakers used in MAIN ZONE.

2 Height Speakers
(Default):

Uses a set of (two) height speakers.

4 Height Speakers :

Uses two sets of (four) height speakers.

Using Dolby Speakers :

Select when the Dolby Atmos Enabled speakers are connected.

Upgrade (Auro-3D)

5 Height Speakers:

Uses five height speakers ∗

This is a layout that adds the front height, surround height and top surround speakers to the floor speakers. Connect the front height speakers to the HEIGHT1 PRE OUT connectors and the surround height speakers to the HEIGHT2 UNBALANCED RCA PRE OUT connectors or FRONT WIDE/HEIGHT2 BALANCED XLR PRE OUT connectors. And connect the top surround speaker to the SUBWOOFER2 PRE OUT connector. In this setting, you can’t use the second subwoofer.

Wide/Height2

Select the channel that is output from the FRONT WIDE/HEIGHT2 BALANCED XLR PRE OUT connectors.

Front Wide
(Default):

Outputs the front wide channel from the FRONT WIDE/HEIGHT2 BALANCED XLR PRE OUT connectors.

Top Rear∗:

Outputs the channel assigned for HEIGHT2 from the FRONT WIDE/HEIGHT2 BALANCED XLR PRE OUT connectors.
For the front wide channel, use the UNBALANCED RCA PRE OUT connectors.

The displayed selection shows the channel name assigned for HEIGHT2 in the “Height Layout” setting.

In some settings, “Wide/Height2” may not be available.

Detailed settings when “Assign Mode” is set to “9.1ch (Bi-Amp)”

When “Assign Mode” is set to “9.1ch (Bi-Amp)”, set the following items.

Pre-out for Bi-Amp

Select the PRE OUT connectors used for the bi-amp connection of front speakers.

FRONT WIDE/HEIGHT2
(Default):

Make the bi-amp connection by using the FRONT PRE OUT connectors and FRONT WIDE/HEIGHT2 PRE OUT connectors.

HEIGHT1:

Make the bi-amp connection by using the FRONT PRE OUT connectors and HEIGHT1 PRE OUT connectors.

SURROUND BACK:

Make the bi-amp connection by using the FRONT PRE OUT connectors and SURROUND BACK PRE OUT connectors.

Height Speakers

Select the number of the height speakers used in MAIN ZONE.

None:

Uses no height speakers.

Select the PRE OUT connectors used for the front speakers of the second unit.

Connect the front speakers of the second unit to the FRONT WIDE/HEIGHT2 PRE OUT connectors.

HEIGHT1:

Connect the front speakers of the second unit to the HEIGHT1 PRE OUT connectors.

When “Assign Mode” is set to “Dolby Atmos”, set the following items.

Layout

Select the speaker layout for Dolby Atmos playback.

7.1ch + 4 Height:

This is a layout that adds the top front and top rear speakers to the 7.1 channel layout which includes the surround back channel. Connect the top front speakers to the HEIGHT1 PRE OUT connectors and the top rear speakers to the HEIGHT2 UNBALANCED RCA PRE OUT connectors or FRONT WIDE/HIGHT2 BALANCED XLR PRE OUT connectors.

7.1ch + 2 Height
(Default):

This is a layout that adds the top middle speakers to the 7.1 channel layout including the surround back channel. Connect the top middle speakers to the HEIGHT1 PRE OUT connectors.

5.1ch + 4 Height:

This is a layout that adds the top front and top rear speakers to the basic 5.1 channel layout. Connect the top front speakers to the HEIGHT1 PRE OUT connectors and the top rear speakers to the HEIGHT2 UNBALANCED RCA PRE OUT connectors or FRONT WIDE/HIGHT2 BALANCED XLR PRE OUT connectors.

5.1ch + 2 Height:

This is a layout that adds the top middle speakers to the basic 5.1 channel layout.
Connect the top middle speakers to the HEIGHT1 PRE OUT connectors.

If you use “Dolby Atmos Enabled speakers”, the “Assign Mode” is set to “11.1ch”link, “9.1ch (Bi-Amp)”link or “9.1ch + Front B”link.

Upgrade (Auro-3D)

Detailed setting when “Assign Mode” is set to “Auro-3D”

When “Assign Mode” is set to “Auro-3D”, set the following items.

Layout

Select the speaker layout for Auro-3D playback

Auro 9.1ch (Default):

This is a layout that adds the front height and surround height speakers to the basic 5.1 channel layout.
Connect the front height speakers to the HEIGHT1 PRE OUT connectors and the surround height speakers to the HEIGHT2 UNBALANCED RCA connectors or FRONT WIDE/HEIGHT2 BALANCED XLR PRE OUT connectors.

Auro 10.1ch:

This is a layout that adds the front height, surround height and top surround speakers to the basic 5.1 channel layout.
Connect the front height speakers to the HEIGHT1 PRE OUT connectors and the surround height speakers to the HEIGHT2 UNBALANCED RCA connectors or FRONT WIDE/HEIGHT2 BALANCED XLR PRE OUT connectors.
And connect the top surround speaker to SUBWOOFER 2 PRE OUT connector.
In this setting, you can’t use the second subwoofer.
